Steve has worked in the engineering and plastic field for over twenty years having begun his career with ICI paints in 1986 as an engineering apprentice. Academic qualifications were gained at Loughborough University with a Mechanical Engineering degree and a PhD in Polymer Science. After university, Steve worked in the R&D field for Pera Technology for several years before moving to the Retail sector with Boots in 2000. Steve works in the Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility team within Boots at Nottingham. Current responsibilities are for defining Boots' strategy for plastics in both packagin and product applications to protect the Boots brand and ensure customer requirements are met.

Away from work, Steve enjoys marathon running, mountain biking and generally being active.
